The easiest way to give to the Foundation is a cash donation via check or on-line.
1) Make your check payable to THE NEW YORK BAR FOUNDATION. Mail to:
The New York Bar Foundation
One Elk Street
Albany, NY 12207
2) Call the Foundation headquarters at (518) 487-5651 and provide your credit card information.

When renewing your annual membership to the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA), members are encouraged to include a charitable contribution to The Foundation.
We’re grateful to those who choose to contribute.
As a fitting and lasting tribute to a deceased loved one or colleague, you can give a charitable contribution.
The family of the deceased will receive an acknowledgement of your gift with an undisclosed contribution amount.
Lawyers in whose name contributions are made will be listed in a Foundation Memorial Book maintained at the New York State Bar Center in Albany and acknowledged in the Foundation’s Annual Report.
Individuals with memorial contributions or bequests in the amount of $1000 or more will have their names permanently inscribed on a bronze plaque mounted in Memorial Hall facing the courtyard at the Bar Center.
One way to honor a friend, colleague, or loved one is to acknowledge a special occasion such as a graduation, firm anniversary, promotion, or passing the bar exam with a contribution to The New York Bar Foundation.
The honoree will receive an acknowledgement of your gift with an undisclosed contribution amount.
In addition, your gifts will be acknowledged in The Foundation’s Annual Report.
Corporate or Firm Matching Gifts are one way to maximize your personal contributions two-or-three fold, increasing the impact of your gift.
Each company has its own guidelines for employees, spouses, and retirees but most procedures usually include the following steps:
1) Request a Matching Gift Program form from the Human Resources Department or other appropriate department at your company or firm.
2) Complete and submit the form to The New York Bar Foundation along with your gift.
3) The Foundation will verify your gift and send the form to the proper institution.
4) The institution will issue a Matching Gift contribution to The New York Bar Foundation.
Making a planned gift is a wonderful way to show your support and appreciation for The Foundation and its mission while accommodating your own personal, financial, estate-planning, and philanthropic goals.
With smart planning, you may actually increase the size of your estate and/or reduce the tax burden on your heirs while making a meaningful contribution to The Foundation and its goals. Contact us at [email protected] to further discuss these options.
